In-House Lawyers Compensation

Compensation for in-house attorneys in the United States continued rising in 2014, according to a survey by HBR Consulting of mainly Fortune 500 companies. Breaking out data for 40 businesses in California, HBR found that compensation for in-house counsel nationwide caught up with pay in California as bonuses rose more slowly here. The market for in-house lawyers remains “promising” as businesses continue building their legal staff, said HBR senior director Lauren Chung. HBR’s survey includes in-house lawyers of all levels.
